Gut Feeling - Art Prints
Art prints of my 2026 acrylic inks on paper original painting of historic Quidi Vidi Gut in St. John’s, Newfoundland. I had wanted to paint this fishing village for many years. But first I had to find a unique angle that sparked my urge to actually put my brush to paper. I decided to combine multiple photo references we took over 20 years into this one scene. It includes two iconic fishing stages and wharf structures (to the left) that were burnt down in the July 2025 fire, and it features the iconic Quidi Vidi Brewery.
I was sure I was calling this painting “Different Stages” up until Denise Hammond (my cousin!) suggested the winning title “Gut Feeling” during my Facebook “Name That Painting” contest. She won a canvas print of this painting.
The original painting has sold.
